A worker-led, closed-loop safety app for BC manufacturing and food processing

Safe to Speak. Safe to Work.

A worker-led, closed-loop safety app for B.C. manufacturing and food processing, built around WorkSafeBC requirements. Workers raise concerns early — named or anonymous — employers assign, act, and verify the fix on site, and the loop only closes when the worker confirms it.

The gap

Traditional safety apps require certified worker IDs and signatures — creating friction for young, probationary, or temporary workers who fear being labeled “troublemakers.” Praevanta removes the friction: report named or anonymous, and the loop still closes.

The closed loop — how it works

01

Worker raises a concern

Named or anonymous. Plain language, phone-first. Red-flag symptoms route to first aid immediately.

02

Employer assigns & follows through

A resolution owner and a due date. Actions and evidence recorded. Statutory clocks run visibly.

03

Worker confirms the fix on site

The loop only closes when the worker verifies it.

CLOSED — loop completeorREOPENED — if unresolved

Safety, reimagined

Safe to speak

Faster hazard reporting. A voice for young, new, and temporary workers.

WorkSafeBC informed

Plain-language guidance on rights, hazards, risks, and refusing unsafe work.

Patterns, found & explained*

Reports organized; recurring problems flagged in plain language, reason shown.

Safety + less waste

Spot recurring problems sooner — less downtime, less waste.

*Explainable, rules-based pattern flags — no black box, no surveillance. People make every safety decision.

The product, as shipped

What a worker sees on the floor.

The same intake ships in the workspace: sector prompts, red-flag routing, and the anonymity choice. No redesign between this page and the tool.

Purpose & Authenticity

Built from Practical OHS Compliance, Not Startup Hype.

"Workplace safety tools should be accessible to every employer and worker in British Columbia — whether you have 5 workers on a shop floor or 500 across multi-facility hubs."

I built Praevanta Safety while studying Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance in British Columbia. Through field research and frontline observation, I saw a consistent breakdown across small and mid-sized workplaces: frontline workers report hazards on scraps of paper or group chats, supervisors are overwhelmed with email threads, and physical verification of controls is often left unrecorded.

Most safety software on the market is built for enterprise billing departments — bloated, expensive, and filled with generic features. Praevanta Safety is designed around the reality of WorkSafeBC compliance: equitable, practical, privacy-segregated under BC PIPA, and focused strictly on moving concerns into verified physical controls.

Questions, answered plainly

Frequently asked questions.

What happens after I submit a concern?

It routes to your organization's assigned supervisor or manager, the 24-hour triage clock starts, and you can follow every step — review, action, verification — in My Status.

Can I report anonymously?

Yes. Anonymity is your choice on every report. The app is plain about the narrow limits: urgent safety or legal situations can constrain what an anonymous report can trigger, and the app tells you before you submit.

Who sees my report?

Only the assigned roles inside your organization workspace — typically your supervisor, H&S contact, and administrators. Reports are never public, and HR-sensitive concerns follow the privacy-aware support path.

Does it work on my phone, offline?

Yes. It installs from the browser and saves records on your device when there is no connection, then syncs when you have coverage again. No app store required.

Who approves my access?

Your organization's administrator. You verify your email, submit your workplace details, and an admin approves you into the right organization workspace with your assigned role.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is a guided self-assessment built around WorkSafeBC sources and BC statutory clocks. Use the source links, the OHS Regulation, and your employer's procedures for formal requirements.

What does the employer get?

Assigned corrective actions with owners and due dates, on-site physical verification, JHSC response tracking, and connected, review-ready records — exports included when a prevention officer or auditor asks.
